How then shall they call upon Him, whom they do not believe? How shall they believe upon Him, whom they have not heard? How shall they hear without a preacher? How shall they preach, unless they first be sent! (Romans 10:14)
Pastor Darrick D. McGhee (affectionately known as Pastor D) is a college graduate (degrees in Political Science and Religion) originally born in Peoria, Illinois. Born on November 16, 1977, to Darrie Faulkner and Constance McGhee-Faulkner. At the age of 10, Pastor D's family moved to Los Angeles, CA (May 21, 1988) where he grew up. Enjoying great success in High School, Pastor D would later take those accomplishments with him to Tallahassee, FL where he would attend college: Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (www.famu.edu). While in college, he would suffer great loss as his grandmother (Mary Dell McGhee - February 5, 1997); grandfather (Early McGhee - May 30, 1999); and his beloved Aunt (Mary Struthers - April 7, 2001) would each be called home to Glory. Although he experienced the pain of loss, it would be in college where he would also receive the Lord Jesus Christ into his life.
On September 26, 1996, Pastor D began his Christian walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. On July 9, 1998, at the age of 20, he said, "yes" to his calling to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ (his calling was confirmed by the Lord through II Timothy 4:1-3). On November 23, 1999, after preaching his initial sermon, Are You Ready? he was licensed under the powerful and anointed teaching of Pastor Stanley L. Walker, Sr., and several years later he was ordained under the same leadership. Pastor D completed religious courses at FAMU, along with receiving his ministerial certification from the Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church Ministerial Training Program.
Pastor D has a strong passion for today's youth and young adults. He was named one of 2008's Most Loved Youth Pastors by Gospel Today Magazine (September/October 2008 issue). Since his day of making a covenant with the Lord, he has been used by the Holy Spirit of God to teach seminars, preach at several revivals, prisons and conferences across the USA.
On November 16, 2002, he happily married his college sweetheart, Tikia McGhee (formerly Nelson). To their union they have a son, Darrick Dashawn McGhee, II, born on November 28, 2005, and a daughter, Tania Lauren McGhee, born on May 28, 2010. Currently, Pastor D, Elect Lady Tikia and their two children reside in Tallahassee, Florida, where he is the Pastor of Bible Based Church.
Pastor D lives his life according to Colossians 3:17 - And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.
